None of us can know exactly how the COVID-19 pandemic will play out in terms of the number of infections or deaths. But in the midst of uncertainty, one thing is for sure: life after this will be different.
How we respond now will reverberate for years to come, for our families, friends, and communities across the world.
We need your help. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
Equally concerning is the fact that we do not have sufficient supplies of basic Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) to keep our healthcare workers safe. This means that the doctors and nurses caring for COVID-19 positive patients are doing so without the protective masks, gloves, and gowns needed to keep themselves COVID-free. It is on par with sending firefighters into a blazing fire without protective gear or masks. Already, two doctors in the U.S. have died after caring for COVID-19 patients. In Italy, 13 doctors have died in the past few weeks, and thousands of healthcare workers have fallen ill.
Every healthcare worker that gets sick means one less person available to look after the tens of thousands of COVID-19 patients we can expect to flood our hospitals over the coming weeks.
In New York City alone, many hospitals have already run out of equipment and the remaining stocks are expected to last only a few more days. We desperately need at least 30,000 additional ventilators, and millions of N95 masks, face shields and isolation gowns for hospitals in NYC and NY State. Hospitals are doing their best to access more supplies, and we, as healthcare workers and concerned citizens, are boosting these efforts through our own networks.
Doctors and nurses are asking for help. It is critical that we do what is necessary to protect them.

Alarmed by the lack of availability of medical equipment for COVID-response in NYC healthcare facilities and the delay in obtaining supplies through institutional processes, this group decided to find another way. We know that our hospitals are working hard to meet the demand for equipment, but they are overwhelmed; add restrictive bureaucratic processes and their ability to respond becomes limited. COVID–Courage is nimble, flexible and working very hard with community members, healthcare workers and industry to find alternate and innovative ways to get the resources healthcare workers desperately need - Now. We are in this together for our healthcare workers and we have one chance to get it right.
This website was created to provide a secure platform for the donation of funds and sharing of information. 100% of donations received will be used for the direct purchase of supplies and materials to provide equipment and materials to NYC health facilities.
Dr. Natasha Anushri Anandaraja is coordinating this effort as a physician who has first hand knowledge of the urgent need for equipment in our healthcare facilities. She can be reached directly at firstname.lastname@example.org

We are busy sourcing equipment from around the U.S. and abroad. Some of it is being produced in large factories, some in the basements of homes. Every instrument and piece of equipment is vital.
We need donations in order to purchase equipment and production materials.

If you have connections to manufacturers or producers who could supply medical equipment, including N95 masks, surgical masks, gloves, gowns, and devices to support breathing (like ventilators and CPAP machines), please let us know! Email us here: firstname.lastname@example.org@covidcourage.is
There are many US companies that already have manufacturing capabilities in place. We need to find creative ways to bring them together to collaboratively produce the items that our doctors and nurses so desperately need. Now is the time for us to mobilize — to use our resources and rally our communities to create solutions together.
Send us your ideas, contacts, and information about your own company’s capabilities at email@example.com@covidcourage.is
